Cantina Laredo – Mexican Restaurant

Shopping Malls in Abu Dhabi offer a wide range of tasty options when it comes to dining. One of our favourite places is this lovely Mexican restaurant inside Khalidiyah Mall.

The first impression we had of this restaurant was quite a peculiar one: whilst we were entering, the whole waiting staff (at least 5 or 6 people) were singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to a couple of customers!! We had never seen something like it before and we thought it was such a nice and fun idea. We definitely sat down at our table looking forward to trying the food.

The menu offers many options of gourmet Mexican food, from sharing platters to generous single portions.

We were greeted with a complimentary basket of nachos with two salsa dips, one warm and one cold, which were both really tasty.

I then decided to try one of their “mocktails”, the Mexican Sunset, which turned out to be a delicious blend of orange and pomegranate.

We were out with a friend and we all ordered traditional main courses, such as the vegetarian quesadilla, the brisket quesadilla and the chicken and cheese burrito. We were all very happy with it, as they were really delicious.

The best thing about this restaurant, however, is the possibility to have guacamole made fresh in front of your eyes!

One of the friendly waiters came over to our table and mixed all the ingredients (fresh avocado, onions, peppers and other spices) to create a fresh and mouth-watering blend. They even gave us more free Nachos to eat with it.

We love Mexican food and we will definitely be back to eat in this restaurant!
