I had arrived from Dubai after a long bus journey, and W came to pick me up at Al Wahda Mall. I was starving and exhausted and in need of serious comfort food.
We decided to try Olive Garden, as we had heard good things about it: it was a great choice!

First of all, the staff was really friendly and patient, even if it took me forever to choose what I wanted. It’s harder when you are really hungry! Also, the menu has plenty of choices, making it really difficult to decide.

We decided to go for the unlimited breadsticks – unlimited soup (or salad) option. Yes, you read it right. Unlimited! As long as you order a main course each, you can have all-you-can-eat starters.

Zuppa Toscana.

Minestrone.

Yummy breadsticks.

I choose a minestrone (fresh vegetables, beans and pasta in a light tomato broth) and W chose the Zuppa Toscana (spicy sausage, russet potatoes and cavolo greens in a creamy broth). Delicious!

And yes, even if it was unlimited, we had only one soup each, but we kept the breadsticks coming and they were so yummy!

As a main, I ordered the Ziti al forno, a pasta with a five cheeses and tomato marinara sauce.
W ordered a Tour of Italy, basically three mains in one: homemade lasagna, lightly breaded chicken parmigiana and creamy fettuccine Alfredo. We also had a smoked mozzarella fonduta (I told you we were hungry!) and some non-alcoholic fruity drinks – which were also unlimited.

As you can easily imagine, we were absolutely stuffed. And happy! Delicious Italian food + the word ‘unlimited’ + very friendly and helpful staff made for a lovely evening!
