        Thank you. I guess my outlook is unique because while I am not Japanese, I have visited the country quite a few times and was in a long term relationship with a Japanese man for 10+ years. I love the country, its culture, it’s uniqueness. So between my being born and raised in the American South and then being immersed in the Japanese culture, my blog truly is South Meets East. Please visit often for I like visitors.

    Hi Lau. I’ve just been reading your entry on Ramadan as I will be arriving next week after it starts. Very useful, as always. Does this mean I will not be able to give my husband a hug when he meets me at the airport? I would hate to start by offending anyone!

      Hi! I am sure a quick hug is totally fine! For PDA I mean mostly kissing and prolonged hugs/cuddling… I amended my Ramadan entry to be less confusing, sorry! :) Welcome to the UAE and enjoy this wonderful time of the year! :)

    I wanted to get in contact regarding an upcoming event we have; Toast Europe 2016 on March 11th, from 3-7 pm at the Du Forum.
    If you didn’t know about Toast, please allow me to give you some background. Toast is a family fun day aimed at expats from all across the globe. For the past 8 years, Toast has been bringing together people to enjoy live music, themed food stalls, incredible children’s activities and much much more. And what’s more – children are 100% free to the event – including all activities!!
    Toast Events has a new home this year, with our official venue partner being Du Forum and our destination partner, Yas Island. I hope you share our excitement at this news!
    I was wondering whether this event would appeal to your readers and whether you’d be able to feature it on your social media sites/website.
